As a VM owner I want to understand the different cloning strategies that can be used by CDI (csi-snapshot, csi-clone, host-assisted) and how CDI chooses the best one. Additionally, I want to know how I can check which strategy was chosen for a specific clone operation.

      Doc task scope:

      • Add an xref Creating VMs - RH images overview (not really part of this task but should be done) to the bullet list of ways to create VMs. xref: Creating VMs by cloning PVCs.
      • New concept module for Cloning PVCs assembly: "About cloning".
        • 3 subsections describing CSI volume cloning, smart cloning, and host assisted cloning.
        • Subsections must include paragraph about pros and cons (speed, limitations) and list of prerequisites. Upstream doc resource.
        • Host-assisted subsection must mention that this is a fallback method because it is least efficient. If host-assisted cloning is used as fallback, the target PVC is annotated and an event is logged for the target PVC. Include PVC annotation (in upstream doc) and event. These must be checked for downstream accuracy.
      • New procedure module in troubleshooting called "Troubleshooting cloning"

      (in progress)
