This was originally reported on https://github.com/fedora-infra/anitya/issues/1874, but it hasn't anything to do with Anitya. After some discussion with @jflory7 it was clarified that this is only happening on Windows. In some cases it could be just cancelled and you can continue the authentication, in some cases it doesn't go away and the user is not able to authenticate at all.
