[R&D] As a developer I want to investigate the use of additional CA bundle and identify customer scenarios where the CA bundle should and should not be used with a proxy setting.

Overview

This spike is to understand the fundamentals of proxy configuration set by installer (https://github.com/openshift/installer)

Also, the historical PR and discussions along the usage of additional CA bundles.

Tasks

Read through and understand configuration options for installer
Identify customer usecases for no proxy, transparent proxy and proxy settings for OCP.
Identify components that are impacted.
Initial draft and code changes that can be used to explain design and get consensus with component teams.

Outcome
If this is feasible create the necessary stories to realize the work.
A draft document that describes the findings.
