Implement the operator changes from the enhancements in CFE-10 and the API changes from CFE-12.

Be careful that we can't take the existing contributions [1] [2] into account.

Acceptance criteria

• PRs meet OpenShift quality standards (clear and simple API and code, unit tests, documentation)
• PRs merged into the corresponding repositories
