      In the current state when and ExternalDNS resource is changes, particular the exclude filters or the hosted zone configuration, this could lead to previously created records not being cleaned up. This problem has been described in more detail here.

      For the initial release of external-dns-operator we do not want to address the issue but let the users know that orphaned records are a possibility.
