The current agent provides a listener option which enables dynamic upload of rules after the target application has been started. This option also supports a simple tracing feature which enables listing of the currently loaded ruleset with details of successful or failed attempts to parse, typecheck, compile and execute rules. Both functions are made available via the Submit application class driven from the submit.sh script.

This JIRA task requires:
collection of requirements for modifications to/extensions of the functionality of this listener
definition of a corresponding message format for communications between the listener and the Submit application
a command syntax for the submit.sh program to exercise the new functionality
implementation of the required changes to the agent, the listener and the Submit class/submit.sh script

Resolution of this JIRA needs to take into account the potential for the use of the listener as a conduit for communications between an IDE plugin and an application running under the IDE whose code is being transformed via Byteman rules.
