@Lyle, I won't be surprised if Kubernetes takes the center stage for all clustering related stuff in layered product like BxMS 7 . Fuse is already moving towards it (AFAIK) .
But that is for sure that we are moving away from the headaches of ZK+Helix in 7th release of the product.

Talking about your proposed book/document on BxMS clustering , it is one of the major reasons why customers opened so many cases with us complaining about the same stuff- how to get a basic darn set-up started. Fortunately our Jar installer does a nice job to set-up it for once for the first timers.
We have got good KCS like this one [1] which can be a nice way to get started, but I do not think that kind of knowledge is the reason which should drive this topic in a best practices guide. But hiccups like these [2][3][4][5][6] which keeps the customers puzzled what they must do and what are best to avoid.

The requirements in this support case are mostly very common and typical, like "how to setup multiple bpms with fail over", "should we have git repo. clustering or maven repo. clustering" and "what is the [most recommended configuration ]", etc. We do expect there could be some chapters in the doc. to answer these questions without needing customer to open support cases.
