As an engineer working on Shipwright, I would like the items documented as comments in https://github.com/shipwright-io/build/pull/1302 to be fixed in a pull request and merged into the main branch for a potential 0.12.1 release.

Background (Required)

There were a few cleanup items identified for pull request https://github.com/shipwright-io/build/pull/1302 that we should clean up for a 0.12.1 release, but that are not blockers for getting the pull request merged to unblock other stories from being worked on / completed.
