We should review the incoming Karpenter RFC for implementing https://github.com/kubernetes/autoscaler/pull/8702/. It was mentioned in 2025-12-04 of the karpener working group that this will happen.

In particular, we care about whether or not this RFC implementation will configure Karpenter to take nodes provisioned outside of its domain into account or not when enforcing limits.
