Documentation (Ref Guide, User Guide, etc.)
This JIRA is to track updates needed to Chapter 2 of the Using the Broker guide. These updates resulted from the team Broker guide review conducted 8 Aug 2016.
2.1 Using Your Subscription (CHECK CONSISTENCY across guides)
Replace word “via” - all components
RM “in your browser” - all components
Rename to “Using your subscription to download product”
3-way description - TARs, ZIPs, and RPMS -
Put first and italics- ”This step not required if...”
2.2 Prerequisites
Move Supported Configs here or move this section up? (CHECK CONSISTENCY w/ other guides)
We need to understand more about how Maven is used, why it’s required (Answer: Maven is needed only for the examples released with the product. I played with Artemis (which is the A-MQ 7 base) and all examples with related source code are Maven based needed in order to compile them)
Install probably fails without producing a good error message if one hasn’t met pre-reqs
Is Python 2.7 required for Broker?
2.3 Installing on Linux
Using the .zip file, libAIO, Windows - rewrite to use steps
Language is stilted, Chuck made comments in GitLab RP to fix it
what LIBAIO is “for” should not be described here
2.4 Installing on UNIX - NEED TO CREATE section
[2.5] Installing on Windows - fine
[2.6] What is installed and where (ADD reference topic)
Give user orientation about what is installed where - directories and contents
[2.7] Web Console Overview?
Perhaps need a brief intro to the Web console (link to this section from appropriate topics)
[2.8] Creating Multiple Broker Instances (ADD new section - Verify correct placement)
When you create a second instance, the directory config is copied from the first instance
How to configure second (and subsequent) instances
