Goal:

Python 3.12 was released more than a year ago, on October 2nd, 2023. It took some time for the various packages to pick this new version and support it. It was added to RHEL 9.4 in May 2024. PyTorch 2.5 supports it since October 2024. vLLM 0.6 supports it since 0.6.2 in September 2024.

This epic tracks the work to update Python to version 3.12 for the AMD ROCm variant.

Acceptance Criteria:

• AMD ROCm variant of RHEL AI build with Python 3.12
• AMD ROCm variant of RHEL AI pass the tests with Python 3.12
