Feature Overview
RHEL uses tuned profiles to optimize hardware parameters for different environmental configurations (e.g. bare-metal vs virtualization, etc.). RHEL AI does not include the `tuned` tools. When running RHEL AI on cloud or virtualization environments, the system administrator cannot optimize the profile for the environment.
This feature card is to have `tuned` by default on the RHEL AI images to help the users optimize their server configuration. This is particularly useful when the node reports to Insights where we can provide server tuning configuration to optimize for their environment.

Goals
- Include `tuned` in the base RHEL AI image with a bare-metal profile
- Allow the system administrator to switch tuned profiles to optimize for their environment (e.g. virtualization or Cloud)
Requirements
(see goals)
Done
The `tuned` service and tool are included in the RHEL AI image, and SysAdmin can select, at least, between virtual or baremetal profiles.
Use Cases
(See feature overview)
Out of Scope
The creation of a custom RHEL AI profile is out of scope at this moment.
Documentation Considerations
Document recommendations for switching tuned profiles when running in baremetal vs when running in cloud or virtualization environments.
