To Do
When we initially started exploring AI in day-to-day development, usage was minimal and intentionally conservative. At that stage, team members primarily used Gemini as a consulting tool rather than as an active development participant. AI was used mainly for brainstorming, asking questions, or validating ideas, and 0% of the production code was written with the help of AI.
This epic captures the intentional shift from AI-as-advisor to AI-as-an-active development partner. The focus is on standardizing an AI-first development workflow in which engineers lead with clear intent, strong specifications, and design, while AI is used for implementation, review, and iteration. AI-generated code remains fully owned, reviewed, and validated by the engineering team.
Target State:{}
Reach a point where at least 50% of the production code is written by AI, with engineers increasingly focusing on system design, intent, validation, and decision-making rather than manual implementation.
Outcome / Value:{}
A structured, measurable transition to an AI-first engineering model that improves development speed, code quality, and consistency, while enabling engineers to focus on higher-leverage work.
