I need UberFire to support a HTTP based authentication scheme

Most single sign-on implementations (e.g. Siteminder) perform authentication at the perimeter of the network, and then pass authorization details to applications inside the network via http headers. This approach needs to support the retrieval of both a user and associated roles from an http header in the UberFire Security Filter.
