Native Image [Spike]

We want to determine if a native image is workable or if we should use a JVM image. The goal of this spike is to see what is required to maintain a native image and a recommendation to use JVM images, native images, or provide a solution for both.

We should give some considerations to ARM processors as it looks like there may be interest in the wider audience. For example MacBooks are moving to ARM "soon".
