RFE option to use advanced and custom filters for all tables

    • add custom filter options to the list of clusters
    • False
    • None
    • False
    • Not Selected
    • To Do
    • 0% To Do, 100% In Progress, 0% Done

      Epic Goal

Allow customers to filter the list of clusters depending on options they use to identify them

      Why is this important?

It makes it easier for a customer to sort the list of their cluster on their own terms

      Scenarios

This customer sorts and identifies their clusters by label such as cloudprovider.region or cni-type and Openshift version

      Acceptance Criteria

options to filter by custom label such as cloudprovider.region or cni-type and Openshift version

[ACM-6193] RFE option to use advanced and custom filters for all tables

So literally, they want custom / user-defined / pre-defined entries into the Filter menu across all lifecycle areas. They are unwilling to use the free-form text entry field which sits right beside it.

Goal is much more to use the filter to reduce the search scope on a subset of objects.
In that particular case (clusters), if you see the clusters labels on the right in the screenshot, they want to use them as filters, and the portentially search on that subset.

Contrarily to the title, this RFE is not for the cluster view, but all view....

            yes Sho is right!

screenshot of using the free form search input "app=pacman" and that narrows down the clusters list to 3 of the 11

I'll raise it up in sync call on monday

rhn-support-fdewaley is the purpose to use the filters to make a subset of clusters on the clusters page, so that they can drive actions on them? or is it just to stare at the new subset list.
The customer is using ACM Search capability, and I expect that will be a better way to organize/filter these cluster lists, even making a Saved Search to view them in.

Please ask more about the use case, ie, is it to "sort and view", or is it to "sort and take action"

added the screenshot for clarification, there aren't a lot of details to go by for this request they just want to filter by label (such as cloudprovider.region) or cni-type and Openshift version.
