Epic Goal

Provide a set of policies

• to backup stateful applications on managed clusters.
• to restore applications backup on a managed cluster

Why is this important?

Extends the ACM DR support to applications deployed on managed clusters.

Scenarios

User installs the app backup and restore policies on the hub.

Based on the policy placement rule, the user applies the backup policy on a managed cluster where a stateful application is deployed and running. The backup policy installs OADP and creates a backup schedule for the app. The backup is stored in policy defined storage location.

The restore policy is placed on a managed cluster where a restore should be run. The policy defines the backup to be restored. The applications is restored on this cluster as a result.

Acceptance Criteria

Able to use the backup and restore policies as described in the scenario.
