• Plan to upgrade to Syncthing v2 (commit-based version, e.g. `v1.30.0-rc.1@<hash>`) since the project doesn’t publish a `/v2` Go module path.
• Maintainers noted Syncthing is primarily an end-user app, not a supported Go library, so we’ll continue using commit-based references for now.  
• Hold until after the Volsync-14 release — target for Volsync-15.  

Acceptance Criteria:

• Update `go.mod` to point to the chosen Syncthing commit version  
• Ensure all unit and e2e tests pass  
• Perform manual testing to confirm connections and data sharing still work between old and new Syncthing versions
