- Background
As discussed in ACM-22607, we need to create specific test coverage for hypershift disaster recovery scenarios within the ACM backup and restore framework.
-
- Problem Statement
Currently, there is the MCE-HCP discovery QE test but no backup and restore test that is specific to hypershift scenarios. We need to integrate hypershift DR testing with the existing ACM DR test suite.
-
- Requirements
Create QE test coverage that validates the backup and restore procedures for the three HCP scenarios:
1. *Local HCPs*: When HCPs are local to the ACM hub, how is it restored in active-passive DR?
2. *Remote HCPs*: When HCPs are remote from the ACM hub, how is it restored in active-passive DR?
3. *Managed MCE HCPs*: When HCPs are in a managed MCE cluster, how is it restored in active-passive DR?
-
- Acceptance Criteria
- [ ] Test cases are created for all three HCP DR scenarios
- [ ] Tests validate the backup strategy documented at: https://github.com/stolostron/hypershift-addon-operator/blob/main/docs/discovering_hostedclusters.md#backup-strategy-for-hosted-environments
- [ ] Tests are integrated with existing ACM DR test suite
- [ ] Success criteria are clearly defined for each scenario
- [ ] Tests validate proper integration with OADP in the ACM hub backup context
- [ ] Any specific DPA settings needed for hypershift are documented and tested
