Value Statement

Virtualization is a key aspect of the Red Hat strategy for 2024 and 2025 stemming from the Broadcom acquisition of VMware; and customers looking for new vendors to support their virtualization needs.  As part of this new opportunity, RH is positioning our offerings like ACM, OpenShift Virt, and Ansible to meet the needs of the market.  Adding these components into the OPP PolicySet can give prospective customers a quick way to get started with the components relative to their virtualization journey with Red Hat.

Definition of Done for Engineering Story Owner (Checklist)

• Deploy the OpenShift Virtualization operator
  • Deploy this to managed clusters, not the hub
  • Make sure CNV is operational as an operator.
  • No virtual machines will be created as part of this test
  • Make sure CNV can be easily disabled similar to other OPP components
• Deploy the Ansible Automation Platform operator
  • Deploy this to the hub, not managed clusters
  • Make sure AAP is operational as an operator.
  • No Ansible automations will be created as part of this test
  • Make sure AAP can be easily disabled similar to other OPP components

Development Complete

• The code is complete.
• Functionality is working.
• Any required downstream Docker file changes are made.

Tests Automated
