Background

Support for VM image fact collection from available images would allow for playbook idempotence as automators build out support for their automations based on what images are available within a cloud region as opposed to being configured within a playbook.

The equivalent of az vm image list-skus to collect facts for a given az region would simplify automations that require this capability.

User Stories

As and Ansible on Clouds automator I can use collection supported plays to retrieve currently supported VM Image SKUs so that I may retrieve active SKUs and develop automations around deploying VMs with those SKUs without having to hard-code or parameterize a specific SKU or list of SKUs in my playbooks.
