Feature Overview

Customer needs to leverage AAP to do automation jobs on the underlying ESXi level which needs another inventory plugin: vmware_host_inventory.

(Optional) Use Cases

 Without this feature, Customer can not fully leverage AAP to perform automation jobs on ESXi hosts.  It'll be a huge effort if customer use the traditional static inventory due to various factors like:

• Besides ESXi hosts, customer also need to get the cluster info, and they have many clusters.  It'll be a many to many mapping
• customer need to leverage the facts info to do auto grouping, doing this manually will add extra efforts and operation risks ( miss or add wrong host to a group )
