What is the nature and description of the request?
Hi, as of today, all EE official container images are based on ubi8, I am suggesting creation of new container images based on ubi9.
Why does the customer need this?
For Red Hat IT this would be interesting (I do not know about other customers), because we are want to use RHEL9 hosts to build our EEs, since the builds there are quite faster compared to RHEL8. If we used RHEL9 hosts today, the RPMs landed in the resulting container images would be RHEL8 rpms, running in containers based on ubi8. If EEs were based in ubi9 there would not be any problem.
How would you like to achieve this?
By creating new container images for EEs based on ubi9
List any affected known dependencies
New container images should be present in registry.redhat.io and should show up here => https://catalog.redhat.com/software/containers/explore

I work for Red Hat IT and have some experience building container images (I am not super expert), if needed I am willing to collaborate to help doing this, but I would need to get familiar with the tooling used to build and push the images
