• What is the nature and description of the request?

Most application with LDAP authentication setup have a "Test" connectivity option. This allows for the quick testing of the LDAP configuration credentials and settings. Unfortunately, the AAP LDAP authentication method lacks that functionality and requires other means to test and validate the configuration. It would be extremely helpful to have that option in the UI.  Ideally after filling out the Authentication details, there would be an option to test the configuration by simply clicking on a "Test" icon.

  When doing password rotation to the service account that does the LDAP binding, it would be help with validation of the change.  This will avoid any unforeseen issues with the password rotation and avoid impact to our users of the AAP platform.  It allows for the validation of the changes to LDAP configuration and fulfills our change control process. 

• do you have specific timeline dependencies?
  There is no timeline as work around can be used.  it will enhance the product capability and as well as improve the usage of the product.

• would you be able to assist in testing this functionality if implemented?
  If necessary, Yes.
