1] What is the nature and description of the request?
After upgrading from Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) 2.4 to AAP 2.6, the customer is no longer able to search or filter Jobs and Job Templates by Organization using the UI.
In AAP 2.4, the UI provided an Advanced Search option that allowed users to:
1] Login to AAP --> Jobs --> Click on search section ---> Click on "Advanced" --> Click on "key" --> select "Organization" --> provide name of organization
2] Login to AAP --> Resources --> Templates --> Click on search section ---> Click on "Advanced" --> Click on "key" --> select "Organization" --> provide name of organization
In AAP 2.6, the Advanced search option and related key-based filtering (Organization) appear to have been removed or deprecated. As a result, users can no longer easily view or correlate recent jobs or templates associated with a specific organization.
The request is to restore or reintroduce equivalent functionality in AAP 2.6.
2] Why does the customer need this? (Business requirements)
- Faster troubleshooting:
The inability to filter jobs by organization significantly slows down investigation when identifying recent changes or failures tied to a specific environment or business unit. - Operational efficiency:
Large AAP environments often contain multiple organizations with hundreds or thousands of jobs. Without organization-level filtering, users must manually scan job history, which is time-consuming and error-prone.
- Feature parity after upgrade:
The customer relied on this feature in AAP 2.4. Its removal in AAP 2.6 represents a regression in usability for day-to-day operations.
- Improved visibility and auditability:
Organization-based filtering is critical for understanding automation activity across teams and environments.
3] How would you like to achieve this? (Functional requirements)
