Description :

Customers who are deploying managed AAP on Azure in non-paired regions due to data sovereignty need AAP recovery support in in-region AZ failures.

Current Scenario:

Managed AAP on Azure daily backups are stored in LRS storage. AAP itself is installed in single AZ. If the AZ fails, there is no way to recover the AAP as the backups are also not accessible. Which leaves customers without any AAP recovery support in in-region AZ failures. 

Expected: 

Managed AAP on Azure daily backups are accessible even in single AZ failures. This allows customers to recover their AAP. 

Some options to achieve this would be : Support ZRS storage for backup storage.
