Support PostgreSQL version 17.X on AAP 2.x

      • Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

In my Organization we are currently going through the process of setting up Ansible Automation Platform v2.5.
We are currently working on the High Availability (HA) Setup of AAP for our Production environment. Due to some internal security policy we need to ensure
every component of AAP meets the HA requirements. This includes the AAP PostgreSQL Database. We understand that the installer-managed DB in AAP does not support HA setup or replication natively; and customers are required to managed this on their own if required. Hence, we are planning to leverage on the HA setup and replication capabilities of AWS Managed RDS with Multi-AZ setup.

To setup the AWS RDS in my Organization, we need to meet the minimum requirement for the PostgreSQL engine version of either 14.x or 17.x ( Ideally 17.x ) as we want to avoid the need to go through upgrade process since this is a new setup. Again the support team previously had already shared that 17.x is supported in AAP v2.6. In the current state of the implementation we cannot justify the change to AAP v2.6 and there is no clear decision or timeline on when this will be done. Hence, we are requesting a RFE for PostgreSQL engine version 17.x to be support/tested for the installer-managed DB in AAP v2.5.
