1] What is the nature and description of the request?
Currently, when running a workflow in Ansible Automation Platform 2.5, the inventory specified at the workflow level does not override the inventory defined at the job template level. Each job template still uses its own assigned inventory. The requested enhancement is to allow workflows to enforce a specific inventory across all job templates within the workflow, overriding any inventory specified in individual job templates.

2] Why does the customer need this? (Business requirements)
The customer has multiple job templates, many of which are reused across different workflows. For their use case, they need the flexibility to control which inventory the workflow targets without having to duplicate or modify job templates. Without this functionality, they cannot reliably control the hosts to which automation is applied, which prevents them from adopting the Ansible Automation Platform in their environment.

3] How would you like to achieve this? (Functional requirements)

• Introduce an option in workflow job templates to override the inventory defined in individual job templates.

• Ensure that when a workflow is launched with a selected inventory, all job templates within the workflow respect and inherit that inventory.

• Provide administrators and users with the ability to explicitly define whether a workflow should use its own assigned inventory or fall back to the job template's assigned inventory.
