Description :

In the current version of AAP, users can filter templates by Description, PlaybookName, CreatedBy, ModifiedBy, Label, and Advanced. However, there is no option to filter templates based on the Inventory field.

The customer would like to see the addition of 'Inventory' as a selectable filtering option on the Templates page. This would allow users to easily find templates that are tied to specific inventory types, which is especially useful for workflows that are inventory-dependent.

Business Impact :

Customer manages a diverse set of inventories, including building and testing, in production environments. Currently, categorizing and managing AAP templates and job workflows for these different inventories is a manual and time-consuming process. This inefficiency leads to delays and increases the risk of errors, impacting our overall productivity and operational effectiveness.

The existing AAP interface does not provide a straightforward way to categorize templates and job workflows based on inventory types. As a result, users must manually sort and select the appropriate templates and workflows for each inventory, which is cumbersome and error-prone. That's why they are requesting/proposing a new feature that allows for quick categorization and filtering of templates and workflows by inventory type, streamlining the process and reducing the potential for mistakes.
