> Better image tagging of default execution environments. - Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
>Cu is in an offline environment and has its RPM repo mirrors. They follow a fixed version of RHEL. Typically, today they have repos available for rhel9.2.
So when they build EE images for AAP, they use ansible-builder v3 and provide an ubi9.repo with all internal repos config. But have to base their image on a base image published by Red Hat and currently use ansible-automation-platform-24/ee-minimal-rhel9
The issue is that cu can't use the 'latest' tag as they build an image currently based on RHRL9.3 (and it will keep evolving) with repos for RHEL9.2.(currently, it's working, but some RPMs are downgraded)
The available tags do not describe on which version RHEL version the image is based.
Therefore cu have no way to pick a proper image tag.
The customer wants a new kind of tag where we could get the latest from a specific RHEL base version.
- How would you like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)> By introducing the new tagging mechanism, which will help the user identify the minor version of the OS.
- Additional Information> Informed customer that if the engineering team accepts the RFE, it is not possible to ship these images in bundle installer due to size constraints, and all the images will be hosted in the Red Hat registry.
