Why is the content in the automation hub sorted as strange as today, showing two IBM mainframe collection first of everything at the top. I do not like this. Especially while I do not believe IBM mainframe customers are in the sweep spot of our main Ansible customers target groups.
Don't get me wrong I have nothing against IBM z systems, but as said I don't believe this is good or even best we can do.
I do not get any idea why and how this sorting order is like it is. For me there is no order at all visible or I can imagine any kind of order based on the current look and feel of the UI.
As a user of the automation hub I would rather like to have some kind of understandable sorting order or ways of sorting of the collections. IMHO it would work much better when using fixed or chosen items to order / sort the items in the Collections overview https://console.redhat.com/ansible/automation-hub
For example it would be very nice to use the provider names like (AWS; DELL; HPE; IBM; Red Hat) do build the overarching sort criteria or to allow me as a user to select sorting criteria by myself e.g.:
- collection name,
- collection provider name or
- KPIs derived from the complexity (number of roles, number of modules etc.)
- adoptions figures like number of downloads / customer likes etc.
- age of the collection content (newest first or oldest first)
This is a very powerful usability item, please consider it carefully.
