The maven-core dependencies were upgraded to the latest version, however this caused failures with older versions of maven. This was done to resolve a CVE dependency issue, https://maven.apache.org/security.html#cve-2021-26291-apache-maven-3-8-1. However, the minimum required maven should be 3.6.3 as that is what WildFly and CI currently use.
