Provide a LoginModule compatible security realm.

With the removal of the legacy security subsystem users will loose the ability to use their own login modules.

Is it feasible to add a security realm to WildFly Elytron which could use custom login modules?

If custom implementations are dependent on PicketBox APIs this may not be viable as those will not be present.

This should consider if we really want to add a resource or just provide an implementation that could be used as a custom-security-realm. Related to this we can also consider the JASPI LoginModule profile - that may be a better transition option.
