    Description

      Jaeger currently supports indices organised per day.

      The problem is that for customers who generate large quantity of spans in a day, this can be inefficient.

      Elasticsearch provides a "rollover" mechanism that enables indices to be accessed via aliases, allowing the underlying indices to be "rolled over" based on other criteria - e.g. time, size, etc.
