Epic Goal
- Provide training to the SRE organization to enable them to operate OVN based clusters in OSD.
Why is this important?
Managed services organization is going to do a "Friends and Family preview" of OVN in OSD/ROSA/ARO starting March 1. They need to be enabled with OVN knowledge to be successful in supporting OVN based clusters.
Preconditions:
SRE organization does the pre-work associated with these trainings. A detailed email was sent out by hwadhwani on 02/08/2022.
Acceptance Criteria
- 3 training sessions in separate geos are delivered by February 28th
- Topics that we will cover include:

Cluster Network Operator, what it does, how it works, what are the expected failure scenarios with OVN Monitoring of the CNO, but also sdn pods - what should our monitoring check to detect when the network is broken and narrow it down to the right component Troubleshooting tools - in contrast to monitoring, what are the tools available in the cluster an SRE would use to dig deeper when troubleshooting issues Differences in configuring popular scenarios between OpenShiftSDN and OVN-Kubernetes (Egress IPs, Egress Firewall, Network Policies etc.) New features of OVN in 4.9 and 4.10 Roadmap
- The scope of the training is as defined above and is agreed upon with the SRE organization.
Dependencies (internal and external)
- Availability of Team members to deliver training material in a timely manner.
