= Dynamic plugins now fully supported and a new command-line tool released.

Backend dynamic plugins have reached General Availability (GA). A new command-line tool, `@red-hat-developer-hub/cli` (rhdh-cli), has been released for building and packaging these plugins. As a result, the `@janus-idp/cli` is now officially deprecated. All users should migrate their build processes to `@red-hat-developer-hub/cli` to maintain support and receive future updates.

      Feature Overview (aka. Goal Summary)

Transition Dynamic Plugins from Technology Preview to General Availability (GA) status in Red Hat Developer Hub, providing a fully supported, production-ready solution for extending RHDH functionality through containerized plugins.

      Goals (aka. expected user outcomes)

      • deploy dynamic plugins in production environments with full Red Hat support
      • documentation on building, bundling, and deploying dynamic plugins as container images
      • manage dynamic plugins using the renamed RHDH CLI tool
      • dynamic plugin users experience a smooth transition from Technology Preview to GA with minimal changes required

      Requirements (aka. Acceptance Criteria):

      • Rename janus-cli to rhdh-cli for consistency with branding
      • Create documentation covering:
        • Building and bundling dynamic plugins as container images
        • Installation and usage instructions for rhdh-cli via npm or npx
      • Remove all Technology Preview warnings and disclaimers from dynamic plugins documentation
      • As a bonus enhancement:
        • Include the rhdh-cli tool inside the RHDH container build for easier access

      Out of Scope (Optional)

      • Creating new dynamic plugin functionality beyond what exists in Technology Preview
      • Support for non-containerized dynamic plugins

      Customer Considerations (Optional)

      • Customers currently using dynamic plugins in TP should be provided with migration guidance, if required

      Documentation Considerations

      • Update all references to "Technology Preview" in the dynamic plugins documentation
      • Create new sections in the documentation for:
        • Building and bundling dynamic plugins as container images
        • Installing and using rhdh-cli via npm or npx
      • Update any existing documentation that references janus-cli to use rhdh-cli instead
      • Note in our documentation that our own plugins are not yet shipped as oci images
