Description
Pulling Operators and Operands from non-Red Hat registries requires the use of an ImageContentSourcePolicy object. These are typically used for our disconnected stories or any time this redirection behavior is required.
Because this happens at the container runtime level, the MCO triggers a Node reboot any time one of these objects is created. This means that deciding to use a MongoDB Operator in your disconnected cluster reboots all of your Nodes, which is not ideal.
RFE behavior changes:
- whitelist certain Node changes that will skip a reboot
- add ImageContentSourcePolicy to the whitelist
- document the behavior between ICSP and Node reboots
Investigation needed:
- verify cri-o behaviors correctly without the Node rebooting
- how to best test this new behavior of the MCO
- what other behaviors make sense to add to this whitelist
