      Description

When using property sqltype attribute to define a CHAR type (e.g., sqltype="char(2)"), an initial persist is successful, but subsequent reads truncate that property value to one character (which is then easily inadvertently persisted back to the DB on updates!).

My temporary workaround is to just use ormtype="string" with a length attribute, which results in a MySQL VARCHAR column when I'd really like a CHAR.
