      Summary:

RHOSO 18 provides the ability to run custom neutron networking plugins [1].

On the control plane, this consists in instantiating custom resource definitions (CRDs) for the networking plugin, which is not integrated with the Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift (RHOSO) openstack-operator.

For use cases where an existing Openstack deployment is to be adopted into a RHOSO 18 deployment, the custom neutron networking solution may need a step to migrate database schemas during the adoption before the neutron service can be run on in the RHOSO control plane.

      Goal:

      • Investigate the ability to execute additional db access during the adoption process, to prepare the Openstack service prior to enabling access to the new RHOSO control plane after the upgrade/adoption.

      Deliverables/Outcomes:

      • Provide guidance as to how one could run a custom db migration step during or after the migration performed during the adoption process.
      • Track any gap in a subsequent Jira if need be.
