Description
The web console uses local storage to enhance the user experience and to support features like macros. Per definition local storage lives inside the browser and as such cannot be protected or controlled by the server side (RBAC).
The console uses local storage for the following features:
- management endpoints (for HAL standalone mode)
- pinned items in the finder
- local server URLs
- macros
- 2nd level cache for r-r-d metadata (memory being the 1st level cache)
This feature request is about adding an option to the HAL settings to completely turn off local storage usage. Features which depend on local storage won't be supported in this case.
Part of this RFE should also be clear documentation about local storage and for what it's used in the console.
