When a remote hosted cluster is imported into the hub cluster either manually or through discovery, the cloud platform is not correctly shown ("Other") on the console or in the ManagedCluster resource. This is a usability issue but also some some components like Submariner relies on this information to make operation decisions.

Therefore it is crucial to find a way to provide this information correctly.
