ANSTRAT-18 - Hub Dashboard and UI updates
Description
Background information from sync meeting on hub dashboard (see notes here)
- Do we want to mark certain collections as Featured by default? (Part of the hub installer) - in which case the Featured Collections would have something even on Day 0 for the platform admin.
- [jhardy] nice idea, yes if that is possible it would be great to have that level of control.
- Same question for tagged categories like “Networking”, Storage”, “EDA” collections. Do we want to promote any collections from these categories by pre-tagging them as part of the hub installer?
- [jhardy] so yes we should be able to provide a layout plan to the installer that ensures the dashboard looks good for the first time the user connects. I am assuming that when new items are sync’d from console.redhat.com for validated or certified then this meta data can update and the featured items will change if required.
Problem Description:
- Featured Collections We need to mark certain collections as Featured Collections as part of the hub installer so that even on Day 0 of using the Hub Dashboard, there are some Featured Collections visible on the dashboard. These can be changed or updated by the platform admin as needed. The UI will retrieve these collections using the Collection Version Search API with a "marks" based filter (AAH-2412).
- Categories like EDA, Storage, Networking etc. We would like to display some collections in the various categories that are being identified for the new Hub landing page (AAH-2412). For context the UI will retrieve these collections using the Collection Version Search API using tags as filters.
This work item is meant to capture necessary investigation and implementation of having some collections show up in various collection categories by default on Day 0 using the hub installer.
