As an openshift engineer, we need to design and draft an OpenShift enhancement for managing CredentialProviderConfig through an API. Today, credential provider configuration (e.g., ecr/gcp/aws-credential-provider.yaml) is shipped as static templates by the MCO. However, dynamic cases (such as when registry sources are added through IDMS/ITMS/ICSP) require a more flexible approach which requires an API for customer to use and get kubelet restart for the configuration to take effect.
