"Status Reporting" is a feature aiming to provide visibility into node updates through the MachineConfigNode (MCN) resource. As the MCN resource exists for 4.19, standard node updates are well represented and have "status reporting." Therefore, the scope of what "status reporting" means for this epic and the feature gate that the functionality must live behind when it is first introduced in 4.20 (see MCO-1681) needs to be well defined and socialized with relevant stakeholders. This story aims to track the work involved in updating the MCN enhancement with the Status Reporting scope. Out of scope is socializing the enhancement, which will be tracked as part of MCO-1749.
