We need to write an enhancement to gather review from all stakeholders on the need for ROSA to be able to restrict configurations that the customer should not be able to touch, for example restricting instance types that ROSA does not support.

This enhancment proposes a new CRD for HyperShift called AutoNodePolicy, which will live in the managementcluster. The Karpenter-operator in every autonode-enabled hosted control plane will reconcile any AutoNodePolicy objects it sees, and enforce the defaults from being changed in the OpenshiftNodePool and OpenshiftEC2NodeClass. This will allow service providers to selectively turn on and off certain instance types dynamically if they wish.

This proposal obviously needs discussion from all stakeholders (ROSA/OCM, HCP, and Autoscaling) about scope, implementation details, etc.
